WTF is Crohn’s?
“Named after Dr. Burrill B. Crohn, who first described the disease in 1932 along with colleagues Dr. Leon Ginzburg and Dr. Gordon D. Oppenheimer, Crohn’s disease belongs to a group of conditions known as Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IBD). Crohn’s disease is a chronic inflammatory condition of the gastrointestinal tract.” Thanks, Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation America! (Click the link to learn more if you wanna)
In my own words – It’s the shittest (pun) thing that has ever happened to me. It leaves me bedridden for days at a time with horrendous symptoms and zero energy. My doctor prescribed a casual 14 pills a day, something I just couldn’t stomach (pun) every day of my life – for the rest of my life. I decided to tackle this in the new-age homeopathic “every persons a hippie” type of fashion. So far, nothing has worked. I’m giving this round my all.
It’s time to go Cold-Turkey!
I love my yoga, this past week I experience a further symptom for the first time – joint pain. After visiting my physiotherapist, he told me it was just the joint itself that was inflamed. All I got from the visit was – “Wake the FUCK up and take ACTION!”. I have one body… best I started treating it as such.
The detox includes…
– 2 scoops of Metagenics UltraClear Plus pH – Support for Metabolic Detoxification with 250ml of water
– Fruit minus any skin, seeds, core, pips etc
– Veggies – clean
– Fish – clean
– Brown basmati rice
– Shit-ton of water
– 8 hours of sleep
This was suggested to me by a registered health practitioner, I am not saying this is the best detox that ever lived or that it’s the ONLY detox around – it is the one I am trying after copious amounts of research.
I will be on the above diet for 2 weeks, from there – I progress to repairing my battered excuse for a digestive system. I will keep blogging about my experiences – if I end up helping ONE other person, it would’ve been worth it.
